Mountainfest
Mountainfest, the ultimate celebration of Adirondack ice & snow, is a great opportunity to test the waters with ice climbing - jump in to a “new to ice climbing” 101 course, develop new skills & step up your game with steep ice and mixed climbing clinics, or test your mettle with a "thin ice" clinic. There are opportunities to join clinics on alpine touring, backcountry skiing, winter travel & avalanche awareness.
Whether you come for clinics, gear and clothing demos, or adventure on your own - make sure to check out the evening entertainment. Our guest athletes always promise entertaining presentations & offer a chance to win big with raffle prizes and free swag giveaways!
2025 Clinic information now available & open for registration!

Dane Steadman
After growing up and falling in love with climbing in Phoenix, Arizona, Dane Steadman now resides in Cody, Wyoming, where he works as a mountain guide and field tester. He dedicates his free time at home to developing the mixed climbing in his beloved backyard valley in the winters, and exploring unclimbed rock around the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in summers. As often as possible, he travels to cold mountains in far away places to push himself in the greatest alpine arenas on Earth. Outside of the Lower 48, Dane has established new routes in the Alaska Range, Canadian Rockies, Tien Shan, and Karakoram. He has also climbed in the Patagonian Andes.
Join us Saturday evening for tales of his recent first ascent of Yashkuk Sar (6,667m) in the Pakistani Karakoram - the 2,000m-long route up a difficult & aesthetic spur in Pakistan is being called "one of the best expeditions of 2024."
Kel Rossiter
For the past decade he has been active in higher education, teaching at Vermont State University and Norwich University. Committed to being an engaged member of the climbing community he served as a board member with the Climbing Resource Access Group of Vermont (CRAG-VT) for seven years and continues to actively volunteer in the organization. He thoroughly enjoys the mountain world and the people who populate it, while partnering with private individuals and groups as the owner and lead guide for Adventure Spirit Rock+Ice+Alpine Experiences. As an adventure professional, his personal life is also strongly infused with elements of climbing. When he isn't guide-instructing, he's off advancing his skills on adventures of his own and he enjoys bringing this learning back to front country audiences through writing and presenting.
On top of it all, Kel serves as an Athlete Ambassador for Ortovox, promoting the brand's high-quality, wool-based ski and climbing clothing and equipment.
