I Am the Earth and The Earth Is Me is an environmentally friendly, content-based and physically printed children's book intended for children of all ages! Connecting positive characteristics of self with physical elements/landscapes of the Earth, Hanna Gerlach, the author and illustrator, tied the message together by printing on 30% post-consumer waste recycled paper and by using 100% sustainable recycled silk ink for the color. Hanna always sought to experience Nature as a child in its rawest forms and seeks to encourage other children to experience likewise. From this we learn the beauty of ourselves in reflection to the beautiful universe. The completion of this book is a lived through piece of her art. All of the Nature drawn is somewhere real Hanna hiked to. Each page is written, drawn and painted by hand. The message is both simple and deep.
